Leyla R. Osorio is the CEO and co-founder of Global Cruises, a Miami-based company specializing in unique shore excursion experiences. Since its founding in 2008, Leyla has led Global Cruises from operating in a single destination to over 140 ports worldwide, serving a diverse range of guests, including repeat cruisers and independent travelers.
She holds a degree from La Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Under her leadership, Global Cruises has achieved remarkable growth, earning recognition in 2024 as the third fastest-growing company in the region by the South Florida Business Journal. Leyla has also received several accolades, including being named one of the 2025 Top Women in Travel & Hospitality and receiving the 2024 Travel and Tourism Leadership Award from Miami-Dade County and the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC).
Leyla has been featured in various publications and panels, with her most recent appearance in the January 2025 issue of Travel Leisure magazine, where she shared her exper&se on creating the perfect shore excursion in the Norway’s Fjords. Looking ahead, Leyla is leading the development of a $20 million theme park and beach club in Cozumel, the world’s most visited cruise port. Scheduled to open in early 2025, this landmark project will accommodate over 4,000 cruise passengers daily, create 350 local jobs, and establish itself as a premier attraction on the island.
