Panagiotis Nastos

Professor Panagiotis Nastos is the Director of the Laboratory of Climatology and Atmospheric Environment (http://lacae.geol.uoa.gr) and Director of the Interdepartmental Graduate Program “Water, Biosphere, and Climate Change” (https://wbcc.geol.uoa.gr/) at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Since 2010, he has served as the President of the Hellenic Meteorological Society (HMS). He is also a Member of the Coordination Committee of the “Center of Excellence for Disaster and Crisis Management,” established by the Senate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and a Member of the International Scientific Committee of the UNESCO Chair on “Conservation and Ecotourism of Riparian and Deltaic Ecosystems (Con-E-Ect)” since 2019.

Professor Nastos has supervised a significant number of PhD dissertations in the field of Climatology and Atmospheric Environment. He has 25 years of research experience in Climate Change and Variability, Bioclimatology, Urban Environment and Human Health, Extreme Weather and Climate Events, and the Impact of Air Pollution.

He is a Lead Editor/Co-Editor and a member of editorial boards for numerous international scientific journals and has been an invited speaker at various workshops, seminars, and conferences on climate variability in the Mediterranean and the impacts of climate change on public health and tourism.

His published work includes more than 480 publications, with 185 in international scientific journals and the rest in proceedings of international and national scientific conferences and books (>7,500 citations, h-index: 47).

Professor Nastos has participated as a Coordinator/Principal Investigator in 40 European and National research projects.

Nikolaos Kelaiditis

Nikolaos Kelaiditis was born in Athens in 1969. He is a distinguished professional in the tourism industry, with extensive experience and leadership roles in various organizations.

He pursued his higher education in the United Kingdom, earning a Diploma in Management Studies from the Polytechnic of Wales in 1991, followed by a Master’s Degree (MBA) in Strategic Promotion and Tourism Communication Plans from the University of Glamorgan in 1993.

Since 1987, Kelaiditis has been actively involved in the tourism sector. He is the Founder & Managing Director of World of Passepartout and serves as President & CEO of Danaos Travel, Blue Lemur Investments, Frida Travel Experience, and Amare Hospitality.

His influence extends to industry organizations, where he holds key leadership positions:

  • President of HATTA (Hellenic Association of Travel & Tourist Agencies)
  • Secretary General of FedHATTA (Federation of Greek Travel and Tourism Agencies Associations)
  • President of ECTAA’s Tourism Committee (The European Travel Agents’ and Tour Operators’ Associations)
  • Vice-President of INSETE (Institute of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises)
  • Member of the European Commission’s “Together for EU Tourism – T4T” expert group, participating in the Digital Transition Sub-Group

Fluent in English and French, Kelaiditis continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the tourism landscape in Greece and Europe through his expertise in strategic promotion, tourism communication, and business development.
